Group description

  • Target language: English

The Learning Group
  • Number of participants: 20 (in two learning groups) – 14 women, 6 men
  • Age: 18 – 34

The learners come from the same country and speak the same native language. The learners also speak basic Italian. The educational background of the learners differs between high school and university level, but there aren’t any learners who need additional help to complete tasks. Most learners have experience with online learning including moodle, h5p and claroline. The learners are quite experienced and comfortable with online programs and computers. The language course is a requirement for their jobs and the learners must come to school for the course.

The Course
  • Course venue: classroom
  • Course format: Intensive course – first two months every day in the morning, last two months 2-3 times a week
  • Duration: 138 hours over 4 months
  • Level: B2-C1 English, basic Italian
  • Course material: custom materials prepared by teachers

The course runs over a period of four months weeks to reach a B2-C1 level English or basic Italian. Class is every day in the mornings in the first two months, and 2-3 times in the mornings in the last two months. The course material is custom designed by the trainers following a traditional teaching method. The course is aimed at NEETS.

Technical requirements
  • Available items at the course venue: computers, internet, wifi, headphones
  • Available items at the participant’s home: smartphone, computer, internet

All learners and teachers know how to use a computer. The technical skills differ but mostly are experienced. All learners have an email account.

The classroom
  • Available items in the classroom: computer, wifi, projector and screen, loudspeakers, interactive whiteboard, access to online dictionaries
  • Seating arrangement: u-shaped, two tables pushed together scattered across the classroom. The seating arrangement is flexible.
